It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to…

My sister and I used to rock out karaoke to the title of this blog post.. I’m not kidding.. we’d sing it all the time at my Great Aunt and Uncle’s bar for all the “regulars” until my sister became too “cool” to do that with her little sister (there’s 6 years difference between us and I was like 5 years old when it started).  My Dad used to make her “perform” with me just to get me to stop my tantrums and she’d get so annoyed!

Anyways.. Happy Tuesday!!

Guess what..?!  Today’s my birthday!! Whoop whoop!! I’m 28 today and while 27 was an amazing year for me (hello, I got married to the love of my life!) I can’t wait to see what 28 has in store for me!  🙂

What do I want for my birthday, you ask??  And what plans do we have??

Lilly Pulitzer

Of course Lilly is on my birthday list.. would you ever imagine she wouldn’t be??  This dress just looks beautiful and so comfortable- right up my alley!

I have this tote on my wishlist as well.  I know I already shared this in a previous post but I love it so much, I had to share it again!

Barrington Tote

I have a feeling this is for sure coming… oh yes because I went ahead and ordered it myself just to make sure it got here safely 🙂 I can’t wait to share it on this little space once it gets here!  #mypoorhusband #itsmybirthdayyall

This was on my birthday list, but my sweet friend, Gayle picked it up for me on Saturday 🙂 I know i’m WAY late to the game but I cannot wait to try this out!! This watch is also on my list but I can’t decide between this watch or a Fitbit… I do like the look more of this watch versus the Fitbit… #priorities

It’s just so cute… anyone have this watch or have any thoughts between it and the Fitbit?? I’m just not sure i’d use this to it’s full potential… 

I also thought about a new golf bag for my birthday… the golf bag I have is cute, gray and pink but I really love this one… minus the camo!!

This picture doesn’t do it justice… it’s seriously neon pink! I thought maybe it would motivate me on the golf course but let’s be real… i’d need a whole lot more golf stuff to do that 😉

In all actuality, I am just thankful to be healthy and grow another year older!  I know a lot of people get down on getting older, and my husband is definitely one of them but I think growing old is a blessing that many people are denied! I don’t care about the gifts but more about the people in my life and being able to make more memories with them all!  With that being said.. I am off to celebrate with my coworkers by day and the hubby by night 🙂

Seriously, SO thankful I get to do life with this guy 🙂

Let’s talk.. Summer Plans!

Hi everyone!! Hope you had a fabulous Memorial Day and took a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for you and me!

Today, I am linking up with Andrea and Erika to chat it up about our Summer Plans!

This is what the Griedl’s have in store for our first Summer as Newlyweds..

*We’ll have lots of days spent playing golf.. Golf league with the girls on Wednesdays and golfing with the hubs when he’s not busy with class!

*Weddings… and lots of them!  We’ve knocked 2 off of the books already and are preparing for 2 in June, 1 in July (my brothers, woo!), 1 in August and 1 in September (The hubs and I are both in this one!).  Lots of weekends full 🙂

*A few bridal showers and bachelorette parties.. which should be fun to celebrate the sweet friends of mine 🙂

*Hanging with these beautiful and fun nieces of mine for a few days so my sister and her hubs can have a little getaway!

*A few date nights with this handsome husband of mine 🙂 Off the golf course..!

*The fireworks at the hub’s coworker’s house… they’re seriously AMAZING and it’s so much fun catching up with people we rarely get to see!

*A trip to Charleston to celebrate the hubby’s dirty 30 with a few friends!! Can’t wait for this one 🙂

Needless to say, our first summer as Newlyweds is already all booked up.. literally! Already looking forward to finding a weekend in August that we can just chill and relax a bit at home!

Friday Favorites.

Happy Fri-Yay!! Friday… I am SO happy to see you #asusual  This weekend more than others, since it’s my BIRTHDAY weekend!!! Unfortunately, the forecast shows rain/thunderstorms at least for Friday and Saturday but hopefully we’ll get some sun Sunday and Monday!!

The Bachelorette kicked off this past Monday and I can’t help but watch it #guiltypleasure  I loved JoJo from Ben’s season last year and really thought he should have picked her!   No offense to Lauren, but I felt like Ben and JoJo connected better. Oh well- now we’ll get to watch her with 28 men battling for her love.  If you don’t want to watch the show but want to see hilarious play-by-plays- follow along here.  Has anyone else noticed how young a lot of the men are?? #howaminot22anymore   #alsohowisbeingcanadianajob Are any of you watching this show??

These healthy alternatives to ice cream that I whipped up this past week have to be put on this list!  I’ll be sharing the recipe on the blog next week for any one interested!

It’s Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Spring Sale and they have such cute pieces for such great deals!! I’be scooped up this necklace and these earrings already!

I’m also loving this tank (not on sale, $30), this dress and this PJ top. My MUST HAVE top is also a part of the sale!!  Pick one up in every color (I currently have 4 of them!!) and I promise you won’t be sorry!  And of course there are plenty more on the sale list so jump over to Nordstrom and view them!

This dress.. It’s definitely one of my favorites! It’s been so long since we’ve dressed up this fancy #doesourweddingcount  so it was especially fun getting dolled up this past weekend!

It’s crazy to think but 6 years ago – I graduated college… #gettingolderisablessing #butcantimeslowdown  #illbe28ontuesday #seriouslyHOWisthatpossible. which is just unreal to me!  It’s also my 10 year reunion from high school this year… how did THAT happen?? #iwontbeattending This doesn’t really fall under the *favorites* category BUT thought i’d put a few pictures up for a #flashbackfriday  and also because this post doesn’t have enough pictures.

It seems like another life when I look at these!  It’s crazy how far i’ve come since high school graduation (and college!) and I can’t wait for the life that God has in store for my hubby and me. #sobmoment #sothankfultohavemetmyhusband

Recapping weekend wedding festivities!

I blinked and it’s Monday again… I’m ready for a vacation!  We don’t have any on the books until Charleston in August so a long weekend will have to do for now 🙂

Our weekend was pretty full with 2 weddings (same couple!) and lots of golf!  It was such a nice weekend weather wise – we enjoyed golf on Friday after work and Saturday evening.  I actually golfed 4 times this past week… who am I??  I’m loving all the exercise, walking and quiet time with friends and the hubs!

We also attended our first Hindu wedding on Saturday – I loved all the bright colors, saris and traditions!  The Hindu temple was beautiful with their statutes upstairs and the beautiful stonework.  This was unlike any wedding I have ever been to and i’m thankful to have had the experience!

Raun was dubbed the “King” of the day while Cyndi was the “Queen”.  The girls danced to Raun in front of the temple and also danced Cyndi into the room where they were married.   It was a fun experience that i’m thankful we could be apart of!

On Sunday, the hubs golfed in the morning while I cleaned out the car… #howdoesthatwork After he got home, we started to get ready for the Sawh wedding festivities- pt 2!  Their Christian wedding was a fancier affair compared to most weddings and it was so fun to get dolled up in a fancy dress 🙂

Sunday was the Christian ceremony and it was in downtown St. Paul at A’bulae.  *We had an All Employee Meeting for work at this venue a few years ago so I knew how much I loved this venue before we even got there!*  It was so rustic and picturesque.  The rooftop was amazing!

We ended up getting home around 9:30 just in time to get the dogs out and get ready for bed!  Such a fun weekend with friends and loved meeting some new ones!

Now i’m ready for an early bedtime tonight to prepare for the week ahead!

Friday Favorites!

Happy Fri-Yay! Today, as usual i’m teaming up with some of my favorite bloggers to share my favorites!  Hope you all had a fabulous week and have a fun weekend!  Now onto the favorites..

One

My Mama came to town last weekend and it was such a nice weekend!  She hadn’t been to our house since August and with Logan gone for the weekend (bachelor partying it up!) it was the perfect weekend!  Our weekend included lots of green houses, a winery, the Farmer’s Market downtown St. Paul and a quick trip to Mall of America! Flowers and our front porch are a definite favorite of mine 🙂

And there was even a little Christmas village at one of the greenhouses! 🙂  If you know me.. you know i’m crazy obsessed with all things Christmas so this definitely brightened my day even more!

I didn’t get a picture of us at the winery (same one that we had my bridal shower at in August!) but they had a few new wines that were a definite must try!

After the Farmer’s Market on Sunday, my Mama helped trim down some of our bushes in the front of the house and I styled our front steps- just a little bit for now!

Logan and I have 8 weddings this year – which just seems crazy! I’m always on the look out for a cute dress I could dress up to wear to a wedding (and can still wear it on a regular basis for dinners out) and this one really fit the bill!

It’s seriously so comfortable and cute!  It’ll look great with a fun statement necklace and wedges!  Bonus- I also got it on sale for $11.99 in store! Definite win!!

I am absolutely in love with these Barrington Totes!  I love the different patterns and that I can put my monogram on it- the hard part is figuring which one I want! I’ll definitely have this on my birthday list! 🙂 *hint hint hubs!*

Friday Favorites!

Life has been crazy the last few weeks for me with traveling to Florida, Chicago and Kansas.  It was a nice change to be at home for the whole week with the hubby and pups this week!

Today, i’m teaming up with some of my favorite bloggers to share a few of my favorites from the last week!

One

Last weekend, the hubs and I golfed A.LOT. and I don’t just mean a round here or there, we golfed 9 holes Friday (walking in 90 degrees! :)) after I returned from KS and did 18 (walking) on Sunday just the two of us!  It was definitely a favorite of mine and I can’t wait for more of that this summer… oh wait, we have something EVERY.SINGLE.WEEKEND! I’ll take what I can get!

This weekend, the hubs is gone for a bachelor party but my Mama is coming up for the weekend!  Unfortunately the weather will be back to cold and gross BUT we’re still going to hit up the Farmer’s Market to get some flowers for my front steps 🙂  I didn’t see her last weekend so we’ll also be celebrating her for Mother’s Day! This of course, had to be on my favorites list!

I am loving all the pineapple sandals that are out right now and need to decide which ones I should be purchasing for summer!  It’s hard as I can picture outfits with each of these 🙂

Oh.My.Gosh… You all must pick up this book immediately!!

I read this book within a few days and it was so compelling!  It’s about a neurosurgeon who is diagnosed with lung cancer and speaks about his journey in becoming a doctor and then becoming a patient.  I work in the med-mal insurance industry and have lost two Uncles recently to cancer so this definitely spoke to my heart.

Dr. Paul Kalanithi is an amazing writer (amongst other things)- truly understanding how he’s feeling going through everything and trying to find what’s meaningful in life.  A definite read in my opinion!

This past weekend I made a wreath to put around Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day to represent USA!  The ribbon around the wreath is actually navy and white – although in the pictures below it looks black.  I’m excited to put this up and get ready for Memorial Day!

And what’s a Friday Favorite without my favorite.. Lilly Pulitzer?!  I normally shy away from rompers as they just look goofy on me normally BUT I was pleasantly surprised by these two that I tried on recently! *Sorry for the awkward fitting room photos!*

They were so comfortable and would be so easy to throw on with cute gold flip flops or wedges with a little jewelry- my only complaint is having to basically take the whole darn thing off in order to pee!!  And i’m not going to lie.. I must have an extremely SMALL bladder because I have to pee all the time!  If anyone has any suggestions with rompers aside from taking it all the way down, let me know 🙂

Weekend Recap!

Oh my, the weekend flew by!! I can’t believe how quickly those days go and how slow a work day can go.

Friday, the hubs and I hit up the small Executive Course by our house for a quick round of 9 holes before he settled in to do homework for the night!  It was my first time out on the course for the season and while it wasn’t as pretty as I would have liked, but it’s out of the way!

After getting home after golf, the hubs spent the remainder of the night doing homework and studying!  #boring While he did that, I made Wineapple’s (get it… wine covered in chocolate that looks like a pineapple?!!?) for the following day to give as gifts.  Pineapple’s are the universal sign for hospitality after all.  Oh yeah, and I made brownies from scratch.. yum! We had a quick dance party in the kitchen – hip hop hits of Summer 2000’s anyone?! and it was off to bed!

Saturday was a gloomy day and we set off to visit with our close friends and their little ones!  We were only there for a few hours before having to head back home to get some more studying in- It is finals week after all… but we’re thankful they live close enough for a quick visit! We don’t get to see them as often as we’d like so we cherish the little moments 🙂

While the hubs studied and finished more homework, I headed over to a friends who was hosting a jewelry party.  I missed the majority of the party but welcomed the wine, apps and girl talk 🙂

The sun decided to come out for a little bit on Sunday so we hit up the golf course to do a quick round! Golf much, huh??  Jess and Jeff met us out and we entertained  annoyed the boys a little bit since we’re just THAT good!

It ended up being a fun weekend, all in all!  It was nice to be home for a weekend before every weekend is jam packed this summer.  I’m headed to Kansas tomorrow for work so I better go pack! Hope everyone has a wonderful and SUNNY week! 🙂
