Friday Favorites!

It’s Friday AND it’s a 4 day weekend… 2:00 can’t come soon enough!

We’re putting in our patio this weekend and I can’t wait! We’re doing it ourselves, so it should only take a few hours, right?? πŸ˜‰ Ha! Funny story… I was telling Logan what I was thinking for patio furniture last night (i.e., couch or sectional vs table?!) and his response was “were getting patio furniture now too?!?” Haha! Um what else would we do on our new patio?! πŸ˜‚

Like usual, I’m linking up with some of my favorite bloggers to share some favorites for the week!

I finally got a chance to see this girl (and her sweet little one) this week!  It was so much fun catching up over a glass of wine! Wish we saw each other more often!

I met up with a few girls to start planning Jess’ bachelorette party in August on Tuesday evening and it’s going to be so much fun! Full disclosure: I wasn’t sure how the night was going to go!  I know one of the girls a little bit and she’s super sweet but I didn’t know her other friend very much so I was just hoping we’d all get along and have mutual ideas – and guess what?! That’s just what happened! Jess (and all us girls) is going to have so much fun for her weekend! I’d love to share more (and might but not specifics) but Jess is one of my biggest supporters of this blog so I can’t give it away! πŸ™‚

I bought peonies yesterday from Trader Joe’s and they are always a big favorite!

Fourth of July is such a fun holiday and I’m excited to have my in-laws in town to celebrate and help us with the patio! We have a few friends planning to stop by this weekend too which means Logan will be a smoking machine πŸ™‚ He’s planning a 24 hour brisket, smoked chicken, smoked salsa (that’s a thing apparently?!) and smoked mac n’ cheese again! We’ll definitely have enough food to go around and our guests won’t be disappointed πŸ™‚

My Mama visited last weekend and I shared about our weekend over here! We had so much fun at the winery and movie that it was hard when it was over! Time goes just way too fast! It’s always so hard when people visit and leave… and same when we leave family! One day we’ll live close enough to more family but for now, we’re soaking in all the time we get!

I hope you’re celebrating our independence this weekend and remembering all those who gave their lives for us to have this weekend!  Chat with you after our patio is finished πŸ™‚

Happy Thursday!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted some of my confessions with y’all and I’m sure you’ve been wondering what’s been going on in my head, am I right?!

Well… why don’t I just tell you about a little this and that and a whole lotta randomness πŸ˜‰

  • Taking your Christmas lights down in mid May.  You start questioning if it’s even worth it at this point. I’m still not convinced it was.

  • When I started this blog, I thought I’d keep it separate from anyone I actually knew because I thought people might think it’s odd I started one (and who would want to read it, right?) but then the next day, I started a FB page and invited everyone I knew to like it… I’m not sure I make any sense these days!

  • I’m pretty sure it’s not always appreciated the way I constantly chime in on conversations I am listening in on. I stupidly open my mouth way too often, realizing after the fact that the two people sitting next to me were not really asking me the question, so that answer or comment I just provided (albeit the correct answer) was not very welcome. Sorry ’bout it!
  • The movie Grease was on last night and I made Logan watch the last 20 minutes with me so I could sing along! I’ve always said if I could be in any musical – it would be Grease – hands down! I’ll be Sandy any day πŸ˜‰ And clearly I thought that when I dressed up as her for Halloween! Now, I just need some blonde hair! ha!

  • Taking self portraits in the mirror is seriously awkward. I realized this the other day when shooting my “fitting room finds”. No joke… how do you not feel awkward staring at yourself in the mirror, trying to act nonchalant, knowing that what you are taking is about to be posted for the world to see? So may other girls have it figured out.. I mean, have you seen this girl – she totally has it figured out but me…Not so much. .

  • On that same note, it’s just as awkward when you’re having your husband take pictures of your #OOTDs on your front steps with the neighbors watching.. I’m pretty sure they think we’re crazy!
  • Las week was National Wear Your Lilly Day and guess what? I wore some Lilly πŸ™‚ Does that surprise you?!
  • Watching other people lick their fingers after eating.. it’s seriously so weird. I get it, some people need to get every last piece (totally get it) but it’s just not me.
  • If I could eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be pretzels. I’m not kidding. Pretzel crisps, snaps, nuggets or hot… I’ll take all of them any day!
Pretzel Ecard.png

For real though…

  • I love pineapple juice with my Malibu and all things pineapple but don’t like eating actual pineapple.  That’s normal, right?

On another note, we just sent out the invites to our 4th Annual Crawfish Boil & BBQ last week and I can’t wait for everyone to get them πŸ™‚ I’m thinking of a flamingle theme for it, even though that doesn’t go with anything! I’m dying to have a “Let’s Flamingle” Favorite Things party!

What are some things on your mind lately?!

Weekend Wednesday!

This past weekend sure felt like fall was already on it’s way!  I couldn’t believe how chilly (mid 50’s) and rainy it was the whole time! Logan was away at a bachelor party so my Mama came up for the weekend to lay low with me!

After chatting for a bit when she got here on Friday, we headed off to a movie!

We saw Rough Night and it was surprisingly pretty funny!! My Mama hadn’t been to a theater with the reclining seats yet so she was shocked to see how comfy they were!

Saturday morning, I dropped my Mama off at some fun shops and headed to get my hair done!

After that, we headed to Winehaven winery for some wine and chilly weather!

And of course, we matched in our Lilly!

How cute is my Mama?

After the winery, we headed back home to relax a little with the pups before heading out to shop a bit!

And of course we had some queso and margaritas for dinner!

After dinner, we rented and watched The Shack and oh my… when I saw the previews in the theater I was crying (literally – didn’t even know what was going on in the movie!) and after watching the movie, it was like the flood gates opened! It has such an inspiring and amazing message! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s having a hard time with something or needs a little reminder that God is good and loves us through everything!

She headed home Sunday morning and Logan got home mid-afternoon. It was a quick weekend but was just what I needed!

Did you do anything fun this weekend??

Show & Tell Tuesday – Home Tour!

Happy Tuesday!

Today I’m linking up to do one of my favorite things… see inside other people’s homes! Β When I was younger (and let’s be real, I still do!) I used to wonder what people’s homes looked like on the inside when I’d drive through random neighborhoods. Β I’d wonder what their decorations were or how it was set up… and if they had my dream kitchen?!

Today, I’m linking up with Andrea to share our home tour! Β I shared our fall home tour here and our Christmas home tour here in case you want to check those out πŸ˜‰

I’m only sharing a little peek into our home but there’s been a few updates (decor wise) that I’m excited to share!

This is what our front steps currently look like… Clash much?!

This is the sign normally on our door πŸ™‚ Isn’t this the cutest door hanger?!

This is the look down from our stairs – I recently added the bench with the hanger and wreath! I’m waiting for Logan to hang a sign above the Magnolia wreath πŸ™‚ Hopefully that will happen soon enough!
I also switched out our dark espresso frames for these white ones! It looks so much brighter in our house with all these whites!

Another thing that’s new – I painted the espresso colored wine cabinet white to brighten up the space a bit! Β You can see the old spaces above in the other home tours!

They certainly aren’t professional pictures, I’ll work on that one for theΒ fall tour! And real life – our house isn’t always super clean so you can see how we really live πŸ™‚

If you want a glimpse into other people’s homes (without being a creeper), check out the link up here!

See you back here tomorrow (for real this time!) and I’m sharing my Weekend Wednesday!

Happy Hour!

Happy Thursday!!

I’m linking up with Holly over at Osborn Extravaganza to chat about summer fashion! So grab your cup of coffee or wine (I’m not judging!) and let’s get chatting!

I’m all about easy and comfortable wear most of the time and summer isn’t any different!

I love shorts that are stretchy and comfy (and Β not up my butt!).

I’m also very into dresses, in case you hadn’t noticed! πŸ˜‰

I wear a lot of Lilly in the summer since I can’t get over all the colors!

I love any type of kimono with shorts that can double as a swimsuit cover up!

My summer fashion is seriously all about looking great with easy outfits πŸ™‚ Doesn’t this make you want to go on a shopping spree with me?! πŸ˜‰

Before I go… Logan and I are entered into a giveaway to win a free Anniversary Photo Session with the amazing Jess Nolan and we’d love it if you’d help us win! What do you need to do, you ask?! It’s easy! Just goΒ hereΒ and “like” our picture! The person with the most “likes” will win! It also has a little snippet of our love story in case you’re interested!

Thank you in advance for the “likes” and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for a few favorites from the last week!

Try it on Tuesday!

Who’s ready for another edition of “I need to share what I tried on the other day because I clearly need to document these.” ha! Just kidding.. BUT I do have a few things I tried on last week (or the week before, who knows?!) and some were hits and others.. total fails!

Ready?! Let’s start with good ‘ol Nordstrom!

I tried this cute dress on and was surprised that I liked it so much! I didn’t realize how much I love the OTS trend apparently. I wore it while at my in-laws the last week!

The next dress was so fun that I had to bring it home with me… and I wore it that weekend again for some wine tasting πŸ™‚

Ok… am I the only one who can’t get too much on the “one shoulder” trend?! I mean, I loved it when I was 14-15 years old and it just reminds me of back then!  I just can’t decide if I can jump on it or not…

I was so bummed trying on this gingham top.. I was hoping the giant flap would help with my large chest but I don’t know if it’s that part that I don’t like or if it’s the shortness of the top but this was a fail in my book.

I did not care for this top after trying it on… I think this is so cute on so many people but it wasn’t so flattering on my body type! This was such an interesting top.. to be honest, I couldn’t figure out how to wear it at first and put the straps on my shoulders (which didn’t really fit!) until I realized that duh.. that’s not really the trend these days! ha!

My next stop was Loft! They have such cute stuff and always have such great deals but I forget to go in there all the time! It’s on my list now 😊

This swing dress was so soft and flowy! It’s perfect for running errands or for date night with wedges!

This romper runs REALLY big so i’d recommend sizing down! This is the small on me and the XS would have been a lot better! It’s seriously SO soft and comfy though.. so if you’re in the market for a good romper – check this one out!
Who doesn’t love a little gingham?!
This dress made me want a fun event to happen! I wish I had a reason to wear this because I would have scooped it up in a second!
I love the colors and tassels on this tank! You can dress it down with shorts or dress it up with white jeans and wedges!
How cute is this lemon top?! Seriously… if I was more on this one shoulder trend, I would have bought it immediately!

Oomph, if you’re still reading this, thank you for sticking around πŸ™‚

What are some of your favorites lately that you’ve tried on?!

Mango Strawberry Mojito

Happy Monday!

I thought I’d start the week off right with sharing a fun drink that many have you asked about!

It’s no surprise that these Mojitos are going to be my new “go to” summer drink after seeing our friends a few weeks ago.. I mean, I’ve only mentioned it approximately 1,205 times πŸ™‚

Full disclaimer: I dont usually like Mojitos but these are the! πŸ˜‚

PSA: I don’t know measurements at all so basically I’m giving you the ingredients and you make the drink to your liking!

First, cut up your strawberries (I used three!)…

And put those right in the glass!

Next, you’ll add your mint leaves to the strawberries!

Add sugar!

Don’t forget the mango rum!

And then you’re going to… muddle muddle muddle!

I forgot to add ice to this before I muddled so it was a little hard muddling those leaves!

Then add a bit of Sprite.

And a splash of sparkling water!

Put in a fancy straw (and ice!!) and mix it up!

Lastly… Enjoy it on a patio or deck in the sun πŸ™‚

For real though… I’m no expert but i’m sure you can finagle the ingredients and create the perfect drink!

Let me know if you give it a try!  Is it Friday yet?!

This & That – Weekend Recap

This last weekend was a busy one! We were out of town at my in-laws and for the US Open and came home to lots of damage to our house from a hail storm that happened on Sunday morning!

It’s been a little crazy to say the least!

What did we do all weekend you ask?! Oh just a little bit of this and that πŸ™‚

My sister-in-law turned 21 the weekend before so while Logan golfed with his Dad, I headed to Dockside for a drink with my SILs and MIL.

Such a fun place to grab a drink by the water!

The Mr smoked two pork butts (did you see these videos?!) and we brought them with us for everyone to try! Β So after drinks, we headed back to my in-laws and had over the family for some good food and games!

We hit up the Farmer’s Market for some flowers and cheese curds πŸ™‚

Afterwards, while the boys golfed again, we headed to a few wineries we’d never been to!

The first one… was legit in some guy’s basement!! Can you believe that?! We had no clue until we got there but we decided it was an adventure πŸ™‚

The next winery was more legit and had a beautiful back drop (as most wineries have!) and their wood fire pizza was so good!

The last one we tried for the day was at an old school!! Seriously though… I can’t make this stuff up! ha! This was our least favorite (wine wise) but it was fun to check them all out!

Since the boys weren’t with us for the day (or when Dee ordered a drink the day before) we headed to the Ground Round to get a drink with her!

The next morning, we (I say we but let’s be real… I didn’t do anything!) got Cambree (my SIL) set to head to the airport for her trip to England! The hubs had a bit of homework so we stayed back and while he did that, I headed to the Outlet to do a little shopping!

After they got home from the airport, I headed for margaritas and queso with my MIL. Let me tell you… they were sooo good! It was a new restaurant so my MIL wasn’t sure how it would be but it did not disappoint!

Monday morning we were up bright and early and made our way to the US Open at Erin Hills. Β Both my MIL and SIL joined us this time (and my FIL) so it was fun to have them experience something Logan is so crazy about!

Hope you enjoyed the picture overload for this Thursday!

Back to cleaning up all the crazy debris in our yard now and dealing with all the contractors/insurance company! Let’s hope this is a simple process πŸ˜‰

What’s going on with you lately?!

Try it on Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!

The Mr and I had such a fun (and busy) weekend in Oshkosh with my inlaws that it’s hard to be back home and back to work! I’ll be recapping our weekend later this week and SPOILER ALERT: it includes a ton of pictures! As if that’s a shocker I’m sure… πŸ˜‰

While in Oshkosh this weekend, I stopped by Gap Outlet and seriously.. I wanted so much stuff! I thought I’d share what I tried and what worked (or didn’t) for me since the sale has continued this week!

This dress was so cute! I loved the pink and the fit. It’s perfect to just throw on for errands or drinks with the girls!

This was not a win for me! I wanted to like it so much (it’s off the shoulder, striped and has pockets!) but there was no shape to it and I felt like I was wearing a sack!

I loved this dress for 4th of July (it was $7 in store!) but I definitely needed a size up and unfortunately, they didn’t have one! Otherwise, I would have been all over it 😊

I scooped this dress up as it’s perfect for a day in the office or for a morning at the Farmers Market! Bonus… it was $10 in store!

I didn’t know if I loved this dress on the hanger.. the colors were totally on but the shape made me a little hesitant! One try on session later and I knew I needed to bring this home with me!

I was torn on this jumper.. these have some potential for such a cute summer outfit! Add a hat and you’re set- so easy! I just didn’t think it worked well with my shape though or maybe I’m not used to jumpers yet?! If you wear these, you need this one though!

I’m usually not a big maxi girl because I can’t find ones that are short enough for me but this one definitely fit the bill!

This top (exact sold out online, similar) would be perfect for an office or even for a happy hour!

How cute is this top?! You know I love anything pineapple and this top is super soft!

Right now, Gap Factory is offering free shipping on all orders with no minimum – just use code GFSHOP! Or you can save 10% off your entire purchase with GF10!

Do you have an outlet by you?! The deals always seem to be so much better in store! I love stopping in there when we’re in town since it’s 7 minutes up the road! Also, how do we feel about those jumpers?! Are they a yes in your book or an eh, leave it at the store?!

This & That

We’re almost to Friday so I thought I’d share a little bit of what’s been going on in our lives lately!

We recently hung out with our old friends (whom we hadn’t seen since August!) and it was so much fun!

Their little boy is now 1.5 years old and he was SO sweet!! We haven’t seen them much so we were surprised he didn’t have “stranger danger” with us and so thankful we could hold him (and play with him) a bit!

We’re constructing (is that the right word?!) a patio in a few weeks (sooo excited!!) and we’re trying to map out what we’re wanting for size and shape! We’re going to be doing it ourselves with pavers so any tips would be appreciated!

We celebrated my coworkers birthday with a fun Mexican lunch 😍 can you guess which one is the birthday girl?? πŸ˜‚

I snuggled these little pups lots! Melt my ❀️

We prepped two Pork Butts! And yes, that’s my goofy husband!

And after prepping them one night, we smoked them the next..

My friend, Steph made us some Strawberry Mango Mojitos and I wish I had a picture because they are my new choice of drink!!

Now to remember how to make them.. Steph, I need you!!

I tried this top on and totally loved it! I shared this on Instagram for an outfit I wore to the office if you’re looking for some inspiration!

And I’m sure those workers thought we were crazy at work πŸ˜‚

My not so little niece graduates middle school today and I’m seriously like 😭

Where does the time go?!?! I can’t be there today which makes me even more sad!! I’ll be on standby for pictures though so don’t you worry!

Well, that’s all for life around here lately! What have you been up to lately?!
