Life Lately!

I can’t believe Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and then before we know it, (let’s hope!!!) it will be Easter! I’m beyond ready for some WARM weather since today’s high is literally 1 degree. Can’t wait to be able to go outside with Magnolia to play and for walks.

Since we can’t do that for the next 4 months (yep, most likely 4 more months of this glorious weather….), I thought I’d share a little of what we’ve been up to lately!

We did venture outside one day for a little sledding in our driveway action. Not to be redneck or anything but it was a whole lot easier than trudging through the feet of snow in the backyard without snow pants!

Just as we figured… she LOVED it and didn’t mind the cold. She kept saying “more” and after about 5 times in a circle around the driveway (got my cardio in, that’s for sure!), we decided we’d be done!

We’ve been playing a lot in the basement since we finished her little play area (for the most part) with the insane amount of toys she got with having her birthday and Christmas about the same time!

She’s a lover of all things cheerio πŸ™‚

I feel the same way about pretzels, girl.

In case you were wondering, this blog has completely turned into Magnolia’s world and I’m just living in it! I remember the days I used to post about cute fashion and now i’m a total “Mom” in every sense of the word and wear all the leggings and top knots that I can!

I did wear a super cute and comfy top for coffee with a girlfriend the other week. I’m also trying the Isle of Paradise drops in my moisturizer so that helps me with a little glow!

And then we attended Magnolia’s first friend birthday party! She sure wasn’t shy at all…

Crazy for balloons!

These girls are technically only a little over a month apart and I hope they grow up being best friends!

We’ve also been celebrating Valentine’s Day all month long!

We started by making a plate with her feet on it so we have it to pull out every year for decorations (and I can look back and remember those little things!).

We decorated for the holiday and added some of these gel window clings!

Magnolia made Valentine’s for our families to send!

We also made Valentine heart-shaped brownies and Magnolia is a HUGE fan of these!

My helper being silly!

Magnolia hasn’t been feeling well (thankfully this week she’s doing great – but it’s a day by day thing with daycare these days!) and had Influenza A last week.

Grabbed her purse so she could go shopping πŸ™‚

While she was CRAZY fussy – I don’t blame her at all but man it was rough with Logan traveling for work – she had moments of her silly self come out too πŸ™‚

I shared this picture on Instastories and a good friend said “Wow, she is your daughter!” and no truer words have been spoken! HA!

I’m alllllll about the pretzels (I could live off them, no joke!) and sunglasses!

I absolutely love watching their relationship! She is just wild about her daddy and it’s the sweetest thing to see!

I had a much needed brunch with girlfriends this past weekend to celebrate a big birthday (not mine!) and we ALWAYS say it’s going to happen more often but I feel like I need to make a standing date because life just gets too busy for all of us!

We also had an almost 40 degree day one Sunday so we went outside for a little sledding in the backyard again (AKA workout of pulling a 20 lb baby on a sled through thick snow!).Β  Good thing her smile is so sweet.

In case you’re also wondering about makeup… Magnolia is still obsessed with her Mama’s makeup and this will keep her busy for quite some time! She loves trying the brushes on her face and looking at every piece of makeup! You can also notice her little snaggletooth on the top πŸ™‚ Of course our sweet little one wouldn’t get in any front teeth first!

Magnolia’s worn something Valentinesque every day this week and today is no different πŸ™‚ How cute was she yesterday for school?!

That’s life lately around here! Thankfully it’s been pretty relaxing, just like we like it!

Come back tomorrow for some Friday Favorites and let me know… Do you guys do anything fun for Valentine’s Day? Date night or with kids?!

Hello Hello!

Oh my goodness – here I finally get you all caught up and then ghost you until now?! Aye aye aye! Just when I think I’m ready to dive back into this blogging world πŸ™‚

Well, let me sum up the last 5 months around this part…. family, birthday party, holiday traveling, sickness and that about sums it up! Ha! I won’t bore you with those long catch ups but figured i’d start anew!

Magnolia is officially a ONE year old somehow! We celebrated in true fashion with a rainbow balloon arch and all the fixins – it was a fun fun day and now we’re left with a ONE year old!  I’d like to say it seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital (like everyone says) but in all honesty, I don’t even remember her that little anymore! She’s been on the move since she was 6 months old so I don’t remember that little little infant!

Any who, I’m back and “plan” to share more about life as a Mama (my favorite, most of the time), bring back some of those fashion days (and not just “mama” fashion, aka yoga pants and a topknot! Although that is the wardrobe most days since I work from home most of the time) and whatever else you guys want to see! This little space is for me but I’m always open to suggestions πŸ™‚

If you follow me over on Instagram, I gave you a look at what our play area looks like #trainwreck and said I was planning to “make it over” this last weekend.  Clearly, that didn’t happen but I do plan to take some action this weekend and share all about it! So be on the look out for that next week!

Long story short, I’m back, hopefully and am excited to chat with y’all again! What do you want to see on this space?! I’m open for anything!

Also, can we just talk about all my !! and πŸ™‚ Ugh, I need to work on that… One day at least! πŸ™‚ Ha!

July Happenings!

This is a long one again… but I’m happy I’m all caught up now πŸ™‚

July, July, July… where did you go?! I have never had time move so fast since having Magnolia!

July was busy for us (as usual!).

I mean… precious angel on the 4th of July!

We started off the month with the big 3M Open PGA tournament down the road from us (I’m talking less than a mile!). Logan volunteered all week and was SO excited to be so close to the players and even got to chat up Phil Mickelson πŸ™‚

We did a little day date for a practice round while Magnolia was at daycare.

Her little arm kept going up instead of on the sides!

And then went with my Mom and Dennis on a weekend with Magnolia!

Logan was a bit nervous bringing her… and we kinda thought she’d only last an hour but she lasted for 7 and was a rockstar!

Magnolia enjoyed starting baby led weaning at daycare and sitting with all the “big” babies at the table!

She enjoyed her little pool more outside this month while we had some warmer temps!

We went to the farmer’s market downtown Minneapolis with my brother and his family and just about melted πŸ™‚

We headed down to Oshkosh to my inlaws for my SIL’s high school graduation party…

We stopped in Eau Claire for the night to break up the drive and Logan worked from there…

then onto Oshkosh for a long weekend!

We enjoyed queso while sitting with Mimi..

and seeing her Aunties and Uncle Tanner.

If you’re new around here, Logan and I met at UWEC so we were stoked to all represent and see our little girl wearing it too! πŸ™‚

And then we celebrated Auntie Cam’s graduation!

Image may contain: 4 people, including Jane Griedl, people smiling, people standing

We played outside some more…

and mastered the art of crawling!

We went on just a few walks…

and really liked eating some strawberries and foods again!

Magnolia turned 7 months already somehow!!

Then we headed back to EC for a weekend to spend time with Grandma (my Mom) while Logan was in a golf tournament!

We went to one of my favorite wineries and they had a small animal area and Magnolia was in heaven!

I’ve never seen her giggle so hard at just the llama eating (y’all, that was it! It didn’t move otherwise and she couldn’t stop laughing!) and everyone around was looking and smiling/laughing at how sweet she was!

Always Sophie!

She really has the BEST smile around πŸ™‚

She was REALLY excited to see Daddy after golf (as usual!).

And Logan and I snuck away for a quick dinner featuring margaritas and queso! It was our first time without Magnolia (since the hockey game at 3 months) and even though she was with my Mom and in great hands, I still checked in and we were only gone about 40 minutes max….

Poor Logan was ready to stay for a bit but I was ready to get back to Magnolia and bath time πŸ™‚

Logan finished up his golf tournament and we spent time at the park before heading to Great Grandmas for a little bit!

We saw Uncle Alex a little bit more this month.

And I worked on my photography and editing skills πŸ™‚

And Magnolia made Logan a late “Daddy’s Day” present so we could have more than 1 hole πŸ™‚

img_4645-2And that sums up the busy month!

If you’re still reading then props to you!! This was a long one but I think we’re finally caught up in the lives of us!

Now let’s do some more fun posts πŸ™‚

What fun thing did you do in July?!

Weekend Whereabouts!

It’s already Monday, y’all!

But thankfully, I have a short work week this week since we have the State Fair on Friday with my in-laws for our annual tradition!

My weekend recap starts back on Thursday! I had originally asked off work for a trip with Logan’s family that didn’t end up working out; but I kept it off anyway because it’s basically the last week of summer and I only have so many with Magnolia Kate!

We started our weekend off with our first trip to the zoo…

She thought the orangutan was just so silly!Β

Magnolia LOVED seeing the llama and pony at the winery last month (you’ll see that recap Wednesday!) so I thought she’d be ALLLL about the animals at the zoo!

Trying one of Mama’s favorite snacks – a giant pretzel! I’m a sucker for any concession areas! πŸ™‚

Mom fail because it was SO busy with “kid groups” (it’s the end of summer so I’m sure?!) so it was hard to get Magnolia close enough to see the animals!

But she sure was excited about seeing all the kids πŸ™‚ Ha! Ever since daycare, she LOVES seeing kids!! She lets out squeals and giggles with kicks when she sees any!

Lots of selfies today since Daddy had to work!

We ended the night with Magnolia Kate’s first Packer game (she was asleep the last preseason game!).

She recently started wanting to touch the dogs especially their tails…. here she is testing their patience (thankfully they’re SO good with her!!)…

And giggling SO hard when I tell her “No”… before she went back for Destin’s tail.. we may be in trouble! Ha!

She looked so sweet with her Packers onesie!

Our little Packer fan πŸ™‚

If you can remember, Logan finished the basement back in January and hung the tv in February (the one he bought on Black Friday)Β  but we FINALLY just decided on and got our couch about a week ago so we’ve been enjoying the area!

She LOVES having a sectional to crawl all over!

Friday was a little bit more laid back with Magnolia’s first lunch date to Olive Garden with Jess!

She is sure her Mama’s girl…. loving on those breadsticks!

Then we met Daddy for a quick margarita before he headed to the golf course!

Saturday was a big day for us – we headed to Chetek, WI for a day on the lake with my family!

Gah she’s just the cutest thing!

We weren’t sure that Magnolia would enjoy the boat or even last an hour so we were a bit worried that the longer drive wouldn’t be worth it but guys…

I’m pretty sure she tried every snack she could while on there! Ha!

she did SO well and loved the boat! The more waves the better for her!

My little niece!

We were missing two of my nieces (Trinity and Sydney) and it makes me so sad when we get together without them! 😦

We all just hung out on the boat and rode around a few hours…

before docking at the sandbar! Surprisingly, Logan was the first to jump in!

And again… we weren’t sure Magnolia would like the water much but she was such a fishy! She loved being in this floaty and would kick her feet with excitement (especially if she went over a wave!).

She kept laying in her head on it too and we all thought she might actually fall asleep!

No such luck… she was also on a no bottle strike as usual….

She loved being able to crawl ALL over the pontoon and get into everyone’s snacks πŸ™‚

Nora was also VERY into trying everyone’s snacks πŸ™‚

She’s the only baby I know that is happiest when she doesn’t eat!?! Ugh, it’ll be nice to be done with those in a few months!

Goodness, my niece is OBSESSED with Grandma but thankfully she was such a good little sharer with Magnolia!

Before we headed out, Logan and my sister did some water skiing on my Uncle’s boat and shockingly enough, both were able to get up after 10+ years!

Magnolia zonked out almost immediately when we got in the car!

Enjoying ALL the strawberries – Ha ha!

Yesterday, we just ran a few errands (Costco, Target) and enjoyed a quick lunch at Dino’s Greek Mediterranean.

Magnolia sure enjoyed the fries and all the seasonings!

Every day is something new with Magnolia and I’m loving all of it! I’m so excited for her to do the fair with us this year – I think she’ll love the people watching and trying some foods!

I’m sharing what our July looked like on Wednesday and then we’ll be all caught up finally!

My birthday + June happenings!

Like I said on Monday… I want to document Magnolia’s life for ourselves (I can’t tell you how fun it is when I look back at blog posts and see what we were doing random weekends!) so I’m going back a little bit… grab some coffee or wine – there’s a lot of pictures!

It was my golden birthday this year so we decided to both take off work and spend the day together with Ms. Magnolia Kate!

We headed to the arboretum with a picnic and looked at all the gorgeous flowers!

It was the first day that was almost 90 degrees (and we had a barely 5 month old!) so we tried to do our best to keep her cool and keep her on nap schedule!

It was such a simple day but so perfect too because we finally had our little girl and I was with the people who matter most!

The next day, I headed on over to my brother’s to celebrate a little bit with my Mom and my brother’s family.

We went on a longer walk and just hung out (and grilled out).Β  It was nice to be able to relax outside a bit.

We finished the night with the park (Magnolia’s first time on the swings!) and ice cream at Selmas!

Magnolia and I both got sick with the flu this month… at the same time! ugh! Talk about rough!

Magnolia enjoyed her first time in her little “splash pad pool”.

And we took our first official walk to the park as a family!

Logan’s not a big walker (I mean he doesnt quite enjoy going on walks a lot around the neighborhood) so don’t let this fool you in thinking we go all the time! Ha!

Logan went on his first work trip to Denver so we were solo girls for a few days!

My brother, SIL and niece came over to keep us company one night!

She was definitely ready to see Daddy after those three days!

She learned how to crawl backwards in June and was getting ready to move forward!

Donuts with Dad at daycare!

We celebrated Logan’s first Father’s Day with a trip to the outlet mall…

and play time outside!

Did I mention she likes to be outside?! πŸ™‚

We had our first girl’s brunch out and she did GREAT!

We went to our first Strawberry Festival and Magnolia LOVED the strawberries!

First time she tried them and she was hooked!

She wore some cute outfits…

And even decided she might want to be Daddy’s Caddy!

We made a road trip to Eau Claire for a night to be with the girls!

How is my first niece going to be 17 next month?!?!

And this niece be in high school?!

It’s so special to me that we have these memories for Magnolia with her great grandparents! Even if she won’t remember them all, I hope she has TONS in the many years to come!

Magnolia sat in a “public” high chair for the first time at the mall!

And rode in her first cart as a big girl!

She was obsessed!! I mean, literally squealing with excitement that people kept staring and smiling!

Magnolia turned SIX months in June and i’m amazed at everything she has learned to do!

Goodness, this was a good month! I wasn’t thinking we did a ton when I thought back but wow, we were busy!

Onto the next month…. πŸ˜‰

6th Annual Crawfish Boil

My goodness.. I haven’t written a blog post since May?! I thought I was starting back out but apparently not!

Logan asked me why I hadn’t posted one in so long on Friday (I didn’t realize it had been THAT long!) and I said “what do I have to write about?! I’m in a slump and my life is Magnolia Kate right now” but then he reminded me that the reason I started this blog was to document our lives through pregnancy and a baby – even if that came a bit later!

So I think I’m back… and ready to document for ourselves things we’ve been doing with Magnolia and her growth! She’s beyond amazing (can I say that enough?!) and I want to remember it all!

Now onto our weekend.. we hosted our annual crawfish boil and it was Magnolias first!

Last year, we celebrated “Baby G” with a crawlfish boil/diaper party and this year, she was the “Belle of the Boil” of course!

We lucked out this year and had rain all day (I think it was the first year it actually rained) so most people hung in the garage and driveway.

Magnolia’s first boil! Y’all she WANTED to eat the shrimp and crawfish! She kept opening her mouth when I’d eat it πŸ™‚ Sweet girl, maybe next year!

We have had the same group of people at our crawfish boil’s and it’s just funny to see things change over the year!

Our very first boil, Logan proposed and there were only 2 kids there and now, there were 7 babies ages 1 and under alone!

Magnolia’s a huge fan of babies and kids ever since she started daycare so she was totally content just watching them all (and trying to crawl into their carseats with them and hold their hands :)).

Sweet baby Coco – Magnolia kept trying to hold her hand! Be still my heart ❀

I’ve had questions how we do it and this is how…. Logan! Ha! He orders the crawfish from Louisiana and it’s delivered a day before the boil and he mans everything and boils it while we all mingle/eat apps/have drinks!

This is our sweet Godson, Sully who just turned a year old! They were so cute together!

Everyone joked that we’ll need a bounce house next year with all the kids!

I’m not gonna lie though… it was our first “big event” with just us two and Magnolia and it was a lot of work! We had all of our families at the boil last year and this year, no one was able to make it so it was a little bit of work! It also was a little harder since Logan was busy with the boil so i’d have to remind myself “oh shoot, when did she eat last?!!?” We definitely learned that we’ll need more help this year!

Magnolia just loves her some Gayle time πŸ™‚

I was shocked though – Magnolia was awake for almost 6 hours by the time she fell asleep for the night and she was SO good!! She really went to anyone, as long as she could see Mama or Daddy and we had NO meltdowns! That’s a huge win!

And she loves Jess πŸ™‚

Logan does 2 batches every time and it’s enough to make sure everyone is good and full!

Everyone hung around for a bit and it’s a little different as the years go… everyone was gone by 7:30 and the boil started around 4.Β  Gone are the days that we stay up and have drinks for days with everyone! But honestly, it was my favorite year so far!

This month, marked 9 years of living in Minnesota and we really love our tribe! None of us live by each other unfortunately (meaning we’re all about 30 mins apart so not too far), but it’s always so great when we get together!

And look at this…. at my cookie exchange in December…

We thought only 4 of us were pregnant…

But turns out there were over half of us pregnant! It’s fun to see so many little ones (missing Katie and her little guy who came a little later!).Β  See why we might be needing a bounce house next year?!

And it’s funny to think that all three of us were pregnant in this picture from last year (they were in very early stages and hadn’t quite made the announcements yet) and now this year…

Our good friends stayed theΒ  night since they were from out of town and it’s so sweet to see these two “playing” together!

Best we could do with them always on the move! πŸ™‚

Yesterday, we just relaxed, cleaned and relaxed! Sweet Magnolia Kate was very happy to not be held and to be able to crawl allllll over all her toys!

We’ve been so busy on weekends lately and it’s not slowing down until end of September so we’re trying to soak in the “stay home” days and just relax!

Have a fabulous Monday!

My First Mother’s Day + Life Lately!

Happy Tuesday!

I swear this year is FLYING by! It’s just crazy to me that it’s already mid-May and summer is finally almost here! I can’t wait to actually have consistent warm weather and be able to go outside in the AM for daycare and not wear a jacket!

My first Mother’s Day was Sunday and it was the perfect day! Logan had been asking for a few weeks, what I’d like to do and honestly… the only thing that mattered to me was hanging with my best girl, Magnolia πŸ™‚ I’m sure there will come a day when I just want a break and some “me” time but that hasn’t happened yet so I was excited to be with her all day!

We ran a few errands on Saturday while Logan hit the driving range and for the very FIRST time, Magnolia slept through the errands! She actually slept in her carseat when I transferred her from the car to the stroller then back to the car!

I legit, felt like a magician because how did that happen?!

We just hung out the rest of the evening and binge watched the Walking Dead.Β  We were on season 6 or 7 MANY years ago when it first came out but then we stopped watching it and we’re re-watching it! We’ll see if we make it past where we were before since it’s finally nice outside and we can be outside!

Sunday morning, Logan went out and got me donuts (my favorite!) and some Starbucks to start our day πŸ™‚

We played for a while with Ms. Magnolia before getting ready and heading to Costco for some flowers!

Side note: I never get flowers from Costco but Logan went on Saturday and said they had great deals so we checked it out!

We ran to Menards for a few more outdoor things and then to lunch for a margarita and queso on the patio!

Again.. I don’t know who this sweet child was but Ms. Magnolia Kate was SO good! She didn’t cry at all and actually enjoyed watching everyone at the restaurant! She was so cute and I’m pretty sure we had everyone staring at us since we were matching πŸ™‚

Logan was mildly embarassed that we were matching and in Lilly! He was reminding me that in Minnesota (and Wisconsin), people don’t wear such bright outfits! Ha!

After that, we headed home to get Magnolia down for a nap and we did some lawn work!

We ended the day with a family trip to Dairy Queen for blizzards (dogs included!). It was just perfect for me πŸ™‚

Life Lately!

Last weekend was busy but fun! We finally had an almost 70 degree day and while Logan took advantage of it golfing (would you expect any less?!), I headed to Stillwater to spend Saturday with my family!

I started the day with one more coffee date with Ashton before her little one is here so so soon! I’m talking less than a week!

Then we did some spring cleaning at home and Magnolia actually let me wear her briefly! She was so confused about what was going on but didn’t cry so i’ll call that a win!

She just always wants to look out and see what’s going on so I’m sure it helped that she wasn’t just facing me! Such a big girl!

Magnolia and I headed for Stillwater to meet up with my family for a bit!

We walked downtown….

enjoyed some chocolates from the candy store and then found a cute patio with some wood fire pizza!

It was perfect because it was shielded with a pergola so Magnolia was covered and not in the complete sun!

I had sunscreen on her but I’m always nervous I missed an area and would hate to see her get a sunburn!

My little niece, Nora played and played as well – it was enclosed (and we were the only people there since it was an off time) so it was perfect to get some of her energy out.

She’s so funny. Notice, my sister in law holding Magnolia and Nora on the ground crying since she noticed she was holding her πŸ™‚ Haha! She didn’t care that she wasn’t playing with Anne while my brother chased her but as soon as Anne held Magnolia, it was over for her!

Sunday involved ANOTHER Urgent Care visit for Magnolia since she had diarrhea for over a week.Β  After having 3 diapers the day before and 4 that morning, we headed to make sure all was good! One of the kids in her daycare was sick the previous weekend with a stomach virus and diarrhea but when I called the nurse line earlier in the week, they weren’t concerned with her symptoms.

Thankfully, she was acting her normal crazy and happy self so the doctor wasn’t too worried.Β  We started her on the sensitive formula, per the doctor for a week before we can start reintroducing her regular formula back.Β  I think we FINALLY got it under wraps, 2 weeks later 😦

Poor girl!

We spent the rest of the day playing and back to her regular schedule.

Our days normally consist of playing when she gets home from daycare and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Ever since she started daycare, we are SO intentional with our time with her since it’s limited!

I can’t believe how big she’s getting and pretty soon, she’ll be moving all around so we’re trying to soak it all in!

Well, that’s life lately around here!

Weekend Happenings

Happy Friday!!

This has been the longest week ever, I swear! Magnolia hasn’t been feeling the best since a a few kids at daycare had a stomach virus but I’m hoping she’s on the mend finally!

I never shared about our weekend last weekend and since I’m all about documenting things, here it is!

Friday night, we met some friends for dinner! Queso and a margarita.. my favorite!

When I met ashton two years ago, we were in the thick of infertility. I had miscarried and was waiting for the “year of trying” again to come to an end so we could finally get some testing done! Her and her husband were kind of in the same boat so it was nice to have a friend who was going through it all at the same time!

After all the frustrations and heartache, we have Magnolia and she’s about to welcome their baby any day now!

The weather Saturday was just kinda eh.. chilly and overcast as usual (at least it wasn’t snow, right?! πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ) so we just kinda hung out all day!

My in-laws were in town, including my brother and sister in law as well which is always nice!

It was great to catch up since we don’t see them as often and they loved seeing Magnolia!

Sunday, we were finally able to meet Baby Kinley! She is such an amazing little one!

She was born at 32.5 weeks and agewise is only 5 weeks younger than Magnolia but what a cute little peanut!

We are all SO thankful she’s such a strong little one and at home now!

That was our weekend! It’s been so busy the last 4-5 weekends that it’ll be nice to relax a little for this one! And we’re hoping Magnolia Kate is on the mend and feeling a lot better!

And I’ll leave you with this for the people who didn’t see it over on Instagram! Mine and Logan’s baby picture with Magnolia! My goodness, she’s sweet!

Have a great Friday!!

Weekend Happenings – Easter Weekend!

Happy Monday!

My goodness, the weekends just fly by now! They were quick before but now with a little one and work, they really go quick! We had a busy weekend again traveling and it was A LOT easier this time. Especially with Magnolia on the mend from her double ear infection.

I enjoyed a milkshake Friday to celebrate windows down weather on my lunch!

We relaxed Friday night with little girl for our last meatless Friday of the year! I baked those Special K Bars and Sprinkled Rice Krispy Treats for Easter the next day.

We took our time getting ready on Saturday morning before heading over to my Aunt and Uncle’s house in Wisconsin to celebrate Easter! We used to go back and forth between my grandparents (when I was real little) on Easter Sunday which made it hard sharing the time so my Grandma on my Mom’s side, switched Easter to Saturday so we could have more time and it’s been that way ever since!

Our first day out in matching clothes! Love this more than you can know ❀

My Grandma was in the hospital this past week and is now in a nursing home while she heals – if you could send some prayers her way, that would be wonderful πŸ™‚ We’re hoping for a speedy recovery and to get her back home soon!

We were SO fortunate to have a sunny beautiful day in the 70’s on Saturday so we could spend the whole day outside!

Magnolia and Auntie Anne!

It was just beautiful and I think Magnolia didn’t know what to do with herself since she hasn’t actually been outside outside a whole lot!

With Grandma and her Easter basket from Great Grandma!

My Grandma and my Mom made sure Magnolia had an Easter basket – and like all the little kiddos there, she had to go find hers from my Grandma πŸ™‚

How cute is my little niece, Nora?!

After all the kids found their Easter baskets and Easter eggs, we played a game of Kickball (which has become a tradition) and just enjoyed the weather!

And my big nieces! Can’t believe they’re getting so old!

It was so great to be with my family and spend time with my nieces (and siblings!).

She was just SO happy all day! πŸ™‚

With her oldest cousin, Trinity!

And so cute, with Sydney!

Magnolia had never met this side of the family so we were excited for her to greet everyone!

Too funny! I’ve never seen someone get so upset that Grandma was holding another little one! Nora was crazy about her Grandma on Saturday πŸ™‚ And so jealous anytime she’d hold Magnolia!

And y’all.. she did SO good! Not ONE meltdown and no crying! She napped when I took a walk with her in the stroller (covered with her sound machine) and she just was so sweet!

Her Easter basket from my Mom! So sweet that it noted her 1st Easter!

My Mom also surprised me with a little shower for Magnolia since she wasn’t able to have one while I was pregnant (mainly because all of our weekends filled up too quickly!).

Magnolia was definitely covered up from the sun πŸ™‚

Everyone got us the cutest clothes for Magnolia. I’m talking all the neon and flamingo prints!

Just a FRACTION of the stuff they got her! Seriously, so cute!

We headed back later that day and celebrated Easter Sunday at our home, just the three of us!

We sure got A LOT of sun on Saturday. And we all might have forgotten the sunscreen. #rookiemistake

Logan started his morning off with his first round of golf of the season while Magnolia and I facetimed with my Dad and Janean, Alex, Anne and Nora and wished them all a Happy Easter!

Oh wait… Magnolia may have found her Easter basket from the Easter bunny at home and there was also a gift from her Grandpa and Janean she got to open!

Logan put in the ham in the oven before he left that morning so it was set to eat when he got home! We made a little Easter lunch with potatoes, zucchini au gratin and ham!

Y’all… I bought this Lilly dress when I was pregnant the first time. We had just found out and it was the Lilly sale (which as you know, only happens twice a year) so I thought I’d buy a few pieces on the off chance that the baby was a girl.

We lost that baby a number of weeks later and I didn’t know if I’d bring the few pieces out with our next one or if those would stay in the box with the other few things that we had for the first baby. After we had Magnolia, I knew that she would shine in these pieces that were meant for what would have been her big sister – and I was right. I’m so glad I have these still and that Magnolia will wear them πŸ™‚ It reminds me of how blessed we truly are to have her!

I waited for YEARS to be able to match my little girl and now that she’s here, I can’t stop! Dream to match in these Lilly dresses πŸ™‚

We just hung out (we didn’t do church this weekend since we went last Saturday and figured it was a long day for M the day before) and spent a little bit of time outside and just relaxing for a busy work week!

How was your Easter weekend? Do you celebrate big with your family or keep it more intimate at home?

Weekend Whereabouts

Wow, it’s been FOREVER and a day since I’ve written a blog post! Did you miss these!?!

I thought I’d get back to sharing what we’ve been up to since that was my main reason for starting this little space – so I can remember all the fun times with little Magnolia!

This past weekend was interesting to say the least…

Weekend’s have a whole new meaning around here since Magnolia Kate has started daycare and we’re only with her limited hours in the day! Logan went and picked Magnolia up after work Friday (first for Daddy since usually he’s working until later) and we just hung out for the night! We watched the Masters, of course and made home made pizza with dough from Trader Joe’s!

Total win! We plan to put this on the smoker this summer but for now, the oven worked just fine! πŸ™‚

Magnolia LOVES to snuggle with Daddy and just lights up when she sees him.  It’s the sweetest thing! Also.. he shaved the stache Friday! Woo!

We even matched in some pajamas again – which it’s crazy to see little Magnolia at 5.5 weeks barely fitting into the sleeper and then at 15.5 weeks and she’s definitely outgrown it!

Sully is 6ish weeks here at our Crawlfish boil!

Saturday  morning, we got up and headed to LaCrosse for the day to see some great friends!  We had little Sully’s baptism later that day and we are so honored to be his Godparents.

He’s SO sweet!

It was their first time meeting Magnolia and I have to say… it was a bit rough! Little did we know, she was suffering from a double ear infection and poor little one was throwing up after every feeding (when we could get her to eat! She had barely 9 ounces all day) or was sleeping and not being too social.

It was cute to see the babies together though – Sully went in for a kiss almost immediately! Ha! It was the cutest thing!

We headed back home that night and it was probably a good thing with the way Magnolia was feeling!  We can’t wait to get together again with them though a) when the weather is warmer and b) when all the kiddos are feeling great! We don’t get to see them enough and it’s always SO nice to get together!

Things seemed to get worse for her with coughing, congestion, sneezing, runny eyes and the list goes on! So we headed to urgent care Sunday morning after speaking with the Nurse.

I think it was both Logan and my first time at Urgent Care (as adults at least) so we headed off, hoping it wouldn’t be too long of a visit/wait.

We were out in about an hour and a half and our visit with the doc was about 10 minutes but he was so nice and after checking Magnolia’s ears, knew immediately that our poor little girl had a double ear infection.  This was causing all the other issues and he put her on antibiotics.

He said it would take about 24 hours to really kick in though, so I have her home with me today to make sure she’s keeping milk down and feeling better! She’ll be headed back to daycare tomorrow though, so I’m soaking in the snuggles!

Here’s to hoping she’s on the mend and you enjoyed a fabulous weekend!
